What do I do?
Avoiding the
boil-in-a-bag syndrome.
Have
you ever come home
on a cold day after working hard
and felt that
gnawing hunger in your belly? You’ve worked so hard that it
was difficult to get the right amount of food at the right time. If
you’ve been doing manual labour it gets worse, because you
just get weary and lack energy. You get to a critical point where you
just have to eat before you can go on.
Rushing
into
the kitchen the quickest, easiest food comes to hand.
If
its boil-in-a-bag or noodles in a pot then you know you’re in
luck. The kettle goes on and within two minutes you are wolfing down
relieving sustenance.
And
with it comes the instant glow of relief.
You’ve
delivered something warm that soothes your stomach and gives it a quick
boost.
But
we know that in the long term,
boil-in-a-bag is not good for you.
It’s processed, full of e-numbers and doesn’t
provide the vitamins and balanced minerals your body needs.
You
can top you body up with
vitamin pills, but doesn’t a real food banquet last
longer?
A long luxurious
gastronomic
experience sticks in your mind much better than a two minute instant
meal.
One plus one could equal eleven in my universe.
A professor finished the formula he was writing on the board and turned
and proclaimed
“this is, of course obvious”. He thought a while,
and continued “at least I think its obvious”. He
left the class to retire to his study, where he stayed for some 20
minutes before emerging triumphant to state
“It
Is obvious!”
I don’t know
about
you, but most things only become obvious
after someone has explained them to you in a way that you can
understand. Unless you are helped to see the light, then it’s
almost inevitable that you will spend hours thinking about a problem
that your brain refuses to solve.
You
can do the
same
with your
problem, and take what is
‘the obvious answer’, but
what I have found is that ‘the obvious answer’ is
not always the one that fixes the problem forever. That’s why

What is bad about
Teaching by
rote
This
same professor had a habit of teaching by rote.
The information went up on the blackboard and the student had to work
hard just to keep up with the rate at which it was being delivered.
By
learning exactly what was placed on the
board and regurgitating it
later, students were guaranteed a pass. But was this the best way of
learning? Well it certainly filled the brain with much unconnected
information, but did it help the student to reason for himself?
I don’t think
so!
Many systems offer a ‘quick fix’ on which you
become reliant,
because it’s either difficult to understand or locks you in
through dependencies and product reliance.
“The
Innovation
Project” can be
moulded by you so that you understand how it
works.
Kiss me Hardy
Rob
believes that every problem can be broken down into
simple steps and concepts. This is the KISS (Keep it simple
stupid) principal, which is embedded into every stage of
“The
Innovation
Project”.
Why work with me?
Because:-
- You can
work online (Unless you want me to visit you),
so every product
or service you see on this site can be worked with over the Internet.
- But I know
myself that working online has its disadvantages, because you want to
know the answers now.
- Online
technology helps, through e-mail and online forms,
and it gives me
the opportunity to avoid ‘boil-in-a-bag’ by
thinking about your problem for a while.
- I’m
available worldwide, that is unless I’m sleeping,
or
looking after natural
bodily functions.
- The
information keeps flowing. Each week I visit a pithy subject that hits
the Innovation spot and write about it for those who subscribe to my
newsletter. There’s no guarantee you will get it otherwise,
and in fact only 20 examples of my newsletter are available through
this site. Why
miss
one. Join up now.
- Like
Picasso Rob too has been around the block a few times, and
with “The
Innovation
Project” you can
start to innovate.
Enough is enough
If
your curiosity is piqued,
then look no further than my successes page, which tells you what you
will get from working with me, or if you are still waiting for the
curiosity to engulf you, then why not find out
